Public Cloud Images

SDSC RDS provides preset images to allow users to create instances quickly.

New users can use the Getting Started with Linux Instances and Getting Started with Windows Instances guides to use public images to quickly start working.

The list of available preset images is updated regularly in SDSC Cloud Compute. Please check in SDSC Cloud Compute for more images if you do not see an operating system you want to use in the list below.

Private Cloud Images

Users may upload or create their own images as private cloud images.

Uploading is useful when users need to use a unique operating system not listed below. Creating is useful when users want to save their configurations of a running instance so they can quickly spin up a new instance later.
