SU21 Teampura
Theme/Purpose
Throughout our brainstorming and team bonding experiences, one purpose the entire team was able to connect to was our love of food. With two sushi chefs, we decided to make a simple play-on-words for our team name, Teampura. We also had the same passion of exploring new foods, and we decided to build an app to achieve this! Of course there are already a lot of food review apps and websites (like Yelp), but our focus was on convenience. No download, no account, just enter your preferences and you’ll get new places to try instantly!
Product
Our app, Filet Me On, offers restaurant recommendations that match best to our user’s preferences. One of the many problems some face in their day-to-day lives is simply deciding what to eat for any given meal of the day. This difficulty exponentially increases when there is more than one person. The need to consider everyone’s preferences, price points, and location while thinking of a place to eat can be quite daunting. Our app aims to turn this tiring chore into something to look forward to every day. We provide 3-5 restaurants to choose from which can be shared amongst the group. This will help the user save time and decrease decision fatigue resulting from a burden of choices. There is also a real-time voting poll feature that will allow the users and guest participants to vote on the recommended restaurant together.
Filet Me On is for people of all ages and can be access on the web, on their phone, tablets, or computer at https://filetmeon.sdsc.edu.
