Depending on the problem and the intended solution, one or more of the following answers below may help.
Email support@sdsc.edu to have the project’s volume quantity or storage limit raised. These limits exist to prevent users from accidentally consuming more storage space than intended.
If volumes were created created manually on instance creation with the “Create New Volume” option set to “Yes” and the “Delete Volume on Instance Delete” option set to “No,” then deleted instances may have left behind volumes that are no longer used. Example of when these options are selected.
These volumes that belong to deleted instances may be deleted as long as their persistent data is no longer needed. Volumes can be deleted in the SDSC Cloud Dashboard by going to the Volumes menu and then selecting “Delete Volume” in the volume’s drop-down menu.
Please note you will not be able to delete a volume if an active snapshot has been created from it. |
